When prompted by your browser, select the option to Save the File to Disk. The file which will be transferred to your computer is called a self-extracting file, containing the actual setup program and files necessary for installation. You may save the file anywhere on your computer. Some people prefer to save all downloads in one particular folder. If you aren’t sure where to save this file, simply accept the default folder and click on the Save button.

Depending on your connection speed, you will need to wait for the file to be transferred to your computer. For high speed connections such as DSL or Cable Modem, this will only take 5-10 minutes. Dial-up modem connections may take over an hour. If you choose to cancel the download before it is complete, you will need to restart completely; there is no way to continue from where you cancelled the download.

After the download file has been transferred to your computer, you will need to Run this file to perform the self-extraction of the Setup files. If you recall where you saved the download file on your computer, you can run it directly simply by double-clicking on the file icon. This file is called WINGAI19.EXE. If you are not sure where you saved this download file, you may use the Find Window to locate and run it. To use the Find Window, click on the Start button in the lower left corner of your Windows Desktop. Move the mouse cursor up to Find and then over to Files or Folders. In the Find Window enter the filename you are looking for in the Named: field. You will type in WINGAI19.EXE and then click on the Find Now button. The lower portion of the Find Window will display any matches found. Double-click on the WINGAI19 file in the lower portion of the Find Window to run this program.

A window will appear on the screen prompting you to select a folder to Unzip to. Click on the Unzip button to start the extraction process. This will extract three files for the actual Setup process for The REDLINK software. You are welcome to extract the files to any folder; however, you should use the default folder unless you very comfortable navigating throughout your computer. Click on the Close button when finished.

You are now ready to run the Setup program for The REDLINK. Click on the Start button and select Run. In the entry type in C:\REDLINK\Setup and click on the OK button.

The Setup program will begin by copying some initialization files numbered 1-8. You will then be presented with a welcome screen and asked to click OK to begin the installation process.

The next screen will display a large button with a computer and disks, click this button to begin the installation process. (This screen also includes an option to change the installation location. MDC strongly recommends you select the default path. The REDLINK program only consumes about 2MB of disk space.)

The next screen prompts you for a Program Group Name. Click the Continue button to continue the file installation process.

The installation files will now be copied to the appropriate locations on your computer. If the install program finds that any of the files it is trying to copy are older than one already on your computer, you will be prompted for action. If it asks to Keep Existing File, select the Yes button for any files that are necessary.

After the file copying process you should receive a message indicating the installation was completed successfully. You are now ready start using The REDLINK program on your computer.

The REDLINK program is in the program list. Click on the Start button and up to Programs. Move the cursor over to The REDLINK group on your program list (you may have to scroll down to find it). Then move over to THE REDLINK access software for your region and click to begin the program.
